Oops!

Today's sharp blip in the Consumer Price Index may mean that the Bank of Canada's Governor may have to cancel his vacation plans and move the Bank Rate up on July 11. The increase in the core rate from 1.7% to 2.0% is an alarm bell.

 Bond prices are sagging too so fixed income investors are advised to sit tight now.
